December 9

Mission Briefing

Hello Agents!

Here are your objectives this week.

Math: We will learn the difference between finding the area of a rectangle and the perimeter. Make sure to practice your skip counting.

Science: We will learn about the process of classification.

Language Arts: We will learn to recognize and use voice in our writing. We will also continue our mini novel studies.

Social Studies: We will begin learning about the Coast Salish and their way of life.

Bible: Our scripture memory for December is Matthew 1:21.

Art: We will learn about symmetry to create snowflakes and make Christmas decorations.

Spelling: Monday, we will have our test on M5. We will work on spelling list M6 and have a test on Monday, December 16.

Important note: When practicing at home, the SWR program suggests that students sound out the words during the normal course of their day, which reinforces recognition of individual sounds. When combined with knowledge of phonograms and spelling rules, their research finds that this more effective at increasing spelling skills than rote memory by repeatedly writing out the words.
