Mission Briefing

Hello Agents,

Last week was a lot of fun. Students put some amazing work into their experiments, readers’ theater, art, and more. I love the effort students put into running for Terry Fox. I look forward to what we can accomplish this next week.

Here are your objectives this week.

  • Spelling: We will keep learning spelling rules for the first several weeks before we begin with our lists. Check out this page on spelling rules, which can be found in Online Learning Resources.
  • Language Arts: Students will choose their own readers’ theater script to practice, learn lines, and perform at the end of the week.
  • Math: We will find number patterns, learning how place value and numbers change as they increase.
  • Social Studies: We will continue learning about maps, working on our map book.
  • Science: We will experiment with what causes matter to change state and how density effects matter.
  • Bible: We are learning about who we are in God.
  • Art: We will continue working on our silhouettes.
  • Homework:
    • Read 15 min. I will send books home this week that are at each student’s reading level. I will test them on fluency and comprehension at this level in class.
    • Skip count by 2, 5, and 10. I will send blocks home to help students skip count and learn how to exchange ones for tens.

I look forward to another fun week of learning. I’ll see you soon!

Student Photo Day tomorrow, Friday, September 18

Hello Parents,

Please have students wear their full dress uniform tomorrow for photo day. Knight Days will resume next Friday.

Since it is healthier to be outside than inside, we need students to be ready for the rain. Please send them with umbrellas or rain gear when it is rainy so they can be outside for recess and afterschool pickup.

Thank you
