Mission Briefing

Hello Agents,

I’ve been impressed with everyone’s work in their readers’ theater. I look forward to your performances this week.

Here are your objectives this week.

  • Spelling: We will keep learning spelling rules for the first several weeks before we begin with our lists. Check out this page on spelling rules, which can be found in Online Learning Resources.
  • Language Arts: We will perform our readers’ theater skits and start learning how to write personal narratives.
  • Math: We will finish number pattern lessons and start reviewing our addition skills.
  • Social Studies: We will continue learning about maps, working on our map book.
  • Science: We will experiment with air and balloons to learn to learn the properties of gasses.
  • Bible: We start our study of John.
  • Art: We will create water colour paintings of different types of leaves.
  • Homework:
    • Read 15 min. I will send books home this week that are at each student’s reading level. I will test them on fluency and comprehension at this level in class.
    • Skip count by 2, 5, and 10. I will send blocks home to help students skip count and learn how to exchange ones for tens.
    • Read over your Readers’ Theater lines and try to learn them for the performance. Find the links on the homework page.

I look forward to another fun week of learning. I’ll see you soon!
