Mission Briefing

Hello Agents,

For last weeks of school, we will have a class marketplace where students can buy and sell products they have made from simple materials like paper.

On June 3 at 1pm, we have Orphaned Owl Rehab bringing in some raptors to do a presentation with the class.

  • Spelling: Follow the link to spelling city for list O1. Our test will be on June 6.
  • Writing: We are learning  how to put a powerful story together with a hook, character development, and plot that transforms our thinking.
  • Reading: We are learning to transform our thinking.
  • Math: We are learning how use a clock and tell time.
  • Social Studies: We will be learning about Inuit shelter and transportation.
  • Science: We will continue learning about ecosystems.
  • Art: We will continue to work on our cherry blossom path.
  • Bible: We will continue our Bible scavenger hunt.

Highroad Knights Basketball – Greenhouse Fundraiser

We are excited for our Greenhouse Fundraiser on Friday! We will have basketball games to watch as well as some interactive skills challenges for the younger ones between games. There will be pizza for sale as well as concession treats! Due to this even being outside of school hours, all students Grade 6 and under must either be accompanied by an adult or by a sibling/family friend Grade 9 or older. We hope to see you and your family there!

Zoo Field Trip

Our field trip to the Greater Vancouver Zoo is tomorrow, May 24. We will leave around 9:50 and arrive at about 10:30.

Make sure to bring a lunch that students can take in their backpack and a rain coat in case it rains. Students should wear casual clothes.

We have Jeans day on Wednesday, a field trip to the blue heron reserve on Thursday, and a Pro D on Friday. I hope everyone enjoys their long weekend!

Mission Briefing

 

Hello Agents,

Next Saturday is Movie Night – Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs at 5:30 and National Treasure at 7:30! With the $5 admission, you can support our fundraiser for a green house in the school garden.

*Update*

All students Grade 6 and under will need a parent (or adult) to attend with them as this is not a drop off event. Doors open 5:30pm and the movie is from 6-7:30pm. We will have snacks such as candy, chips, juice boxes, pop etc. for sale at the concession to raise money for our Greenhouse Project!

We are having a field trip to the zoo on May 24. We need parent volunteers to lead small groups of students, and we can get 1 chaperone free for every 3 students. Just make sure to have your up to date criminal record check in with the office and your own transportation. Permission slips have been sent out.

Superhero/Star Wars Day is this Wednesday!  Dress up like a super hero you know or just make one up. No weapons please.

  • Spelling: Follow the link to spelling city for list N7. Our test will be on May 9.
  • Writing: We are learning  how to create a plot in a story.
  • Reading: We are learning to find clues for inferences in dialogue.
  • Math: We are learning to find and create patterns with shapes.
  • Social Studies: We will begin learning about animals and plants that the Inuit use.
  • Science: We will learn how heat is transferred through convection.
  • Art: We will do a Mother’s Day project.
  • Bible: We will continue our Bible scavenger hunt.
