Mission Briefing

Hello Agents!

Here are your objectives this week.

Math: Start using skip counting to multiply.

Science: Use classification to help us understand the differences in animals.

Language Arts: Learn to read and use more poetic devices.

Social Studies: Finish our brochures about the different regions of Canada.

Bible: We will continue learning about Christian Character and memorizing Philippians 4:4-9.

Art: Finish mixing and fading warm and cool colours into silhouettes.

Spelling: This we will start learning the spelling list M3, and we will continue working on it next week.

Notices

  • Make sure to turn in your Comfort Kits.
  • October 3 we will be going to the Chilliwack Corn Maze. Please come and join us. We need parent help to lead students through the corn maze. Make sure to have your criminal record check in the office.
  • Purdy’s Campaign catalogs are available in the office. 25% of proceeds go toward your student reserve account.

  • 3 Hockey Tickets were donated to our class for October 6. If you would like one of these. Please reply here or let me know and I will have a drawing then let you know the winners after school on Monday.

Fundraisers

Terry Fox Run

Friday, September 28 we will run laps and collect Toonies for Terry in honour of Terry Fox. If you would like to donate to this fundraiser for the Cancer Society to treat and find a cure for cancer, please bring a toonie on Friday.

Purdy’s Campaign

Catalogs are in the school office. 25% of each student’s sales goes to their reserve account. Prizes will be given to the families with the highest sales.

Orders due by Friday, November 23.

Orders available for pick up on Friday, December 7.

Bible: Learn more about christian character and continue memorizing our Bible verse for September: Hebrews 11:1-3 (NLT).

Spelling: This week we will be learning spelling list M2.

Form extravaganza

Hello Agents,

We have a few forms that I would like to explain more about.

Student information: Please fill this out and return it to us so we can have up to date information for emergencies.

Corn Maze: Please get this signed permission slip back by Friday so that we can know who has permission for our field trip.

Comfort Kits: We would like to start working on getting comfort kits all ready for students in case of an emergency. I have some student kits from last year that I can send home tomorrow in case you would like to update anything.

Hot Lunch: Fill this out and return it by Friday if you would like to have hot lunch September 26th.

Hello Agents!

Monday we have a Pro D day, and we will be back in school on Tuesday. These are our mission objectives.

Math: Find and count arrays, objects lined up in columns and rows.

Science: Problem solve with coding and find ways we can apply classification.

Language Arts: Notice poetic devices that create an experience in the reader and use them to create our own poetry.

Social Studies: Discover the importance of our place in our family and community.

Art: Use our new colour mixing skills to create striking silhouettes.

Bible: Learn more about christian character and continue memorizing our Bible verse for September: Hebrews 11:1-3 (NLT).

Spelling: Learn and use spelling rules.

Important Reminders

Criminal Record Check: Parents that would like to join us on field trips must have an up to date criminal record check on file with the office. Please speak with Kathy or Denise if you would like to have one done.

Hot Lunch: Students can buy pizza on Tuesdays for $2 per slice.

Students can pre-order hot dogs on Knight Days.

Pro D day: No school on Monday, September 17.

Parent Night: Tuesday, September 18 at 6:30 pm, parents can come to the gym to meet the teachers. There will be no child care provided. This is event is just for parents and teachers.

Hello Agents!

We’ve had a great start to our year, and we have some fun projects to look forward this week.

Math

We will review some addition and subtraction strategies and basic concepts we will need to start learning multiplication.

Science

We will learn to group objects by their characteristics.

Language Arts

We will learn about poems and how to write them.

Social Studies

We will learn how to read maps.

Art

We will learn to mix and find complementary colours.

Bible

We will learn more about christian character and start memorizing our first Bible verse: Hebrews 11:1-3 (NLT).

Spelling

We are starting spelling this week with list M1.

Greetings agents, welcome to your new headquarters!

Here are our mission objectives.

Math: Learn how to count objects in arrays (objects found in columns and rows)

Science: Discover why we classify objects.

Language Arts: Learn how poetry creates an experience with rhythm, rhyme, and flow in language.

Social Studies: Use maps to help us understand our location in the world.

Bible: Learn how to honour God with our heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Your assignments, should you choose to accept them:

  • Learn and practice your secret handshake.
  • Find examples of arrays (egg cartons or buttons on a phone).
  • Look for language that is pleasant or emotional (poetry, lyrics).
  • Notice maps that help us find our location.
  • Think of ways that we can honour God.

Important information.

PE: We have the gym on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Please bring your gym clothes to change into. Check out our schedule for more details.

Planners: Please remember to bring planners home for homework, important dates, and keeping track of permission slips. Parents can also write notes for me in here. Students will earn team points for bringing their planner and having it signed.
