CASE FILE #1211 — The December Disappearing Days Mystery

Greetings detectives. As frost settles on the streets and peppermint steam hangs in the air, our investigation turns to a new case: The Curious Case of the Countdown to Christmas. We’ve uncovered a series of clues—dates, events, and festive mysteries—that you’ll want to review carefully. Read on… if you think you can crack the case.

🗂️ Clue #1: The Vanishing School Day

❄️ December 12 – Pro D Day: No School
Our first clue is simple. On December 12, school vanishes into thin air! No classes, no clues, no homework—just a Pro D Day where teachers sharpen their detective skills (and maybe drink suspicious amounts of coffee).

Keep this date highlighted in your detective planner so you don’t show up to an empty schoolyard!

🎁 Clue #2: The Case of the Mysterious Gift Exchange

🎄 December 15 – Christmas Party & White Elephant Exchange
Detectives, mark this one in red ink (or candy-cane stripes).

If you’d like to join our White Elephant Gift Exchange, bring a wrapped gift valued between $5–$15.
Important reminder: Only detectives who bring a gift will take part in the exchange.

Optional clue: Bring snacks if you’d like to add extra cheer to the party.

🧶 Clue #3: The Sweater Swindle

🧥 December 15–19 – Christmas Sweater Week
This week-long mystery requires your best Christmas disguise.
Festive sweaters, silly sweaters, classic sweaters—anything that announces “holiday detective on duty.”

The more outrageous the sweater, the more points you earn in the Bureau of Festive Apparel (not a real bureau, but it should be).

🎶 Clue #4: The Concert Conspiracy

🎤 December 19 – Christmas Concert & Early Dismissal
The plot thickens! Our holiday concert awaits—but the dress code must be followed carefully or the fashion police (i.e., me) will raise an eyebrow.

Concert Dress Options:
✔ Christmas caroler look (toque, scarf, sweater, pants)
✔ Best Christmas outfit
✔ Christmas sweaters
✔ Any outfit in red, green, white, gold, or silver

Do NOT wear:
✘ Shorts
✘ Sweatpants
✘ Large logos (we don’t want Santa distracted)

Following the dress clues ensures your performance is dazzling, not baffling.

🎄 Clue #5: The Great Holiday Disappearance

Dec. 20 – Jan. 4: Christmas Break
Once the calendar turns to December 20… the school disappears again!
Don’t panic—this is the normal holiday fade-out effect.
Enjoy the mystery of time off, and recharge your magnifying glasses for January.

⛸️ Clue #6: The Ice Rink Investigation

January 13 & 27 – Ice Skating Field Trip
Time: 9:30–10:30 AM
Cost for skate rentals: $10
Bring: A helmet (even detectives slip)

Parents are welcome to join the operation, but they must:

  • Have an up-to-date criminal record check on file

  • Be prepared to help tie approximately one million skates

  • Come without siblings (the rink is packed and chaotic already!)

This mission requires teamwork, balance, and the ability to stay upright on slippery surfaces—skills every good detective must master.
