VSO and Ice Skating

The VSO was an amazing experience. I hope that the students were able to tell all about the music of the symphony that we enjoyed.

Ice skating was a lot of fun as usual. However, this year, the students had an exciting chance to meet two of the Chilliwack Chiefs!

Mission Briefing

Hello Agents!

We are continuing to prepare for our celebration of learning on Friday, February 28. We will make presentations and displays of our accomplishments this year. Parents are invited to come in and check out the displays from 2:30 until 3:30.

Here are your objectives this week.

Math: We will continue to learn about 3 dimensional shapes and how to make them.

Science: We will learn ways to classify and sort uncommon organisms.

Language Arts: We will use or narrative writing skills to write a fictional story and continue our novel study.

Social Studies: We will continue learning about oral story telling and the Sto:lo culture.

Bible: Our scripture memory for February is 1 John 4:7-8.

Art: We will learn use shape and volume in our art.

Spelling: This week, we will work on spelling list N5 and have a test on Monday, March 2.

Important Notes

  • Guatemala Mission Trip Fundraiser
    • We raising funds and collecting material for the children and school of the village of Las Pavas.
    • Our class has been tasked with collecting coloured pencils.
      • If you are able, please bring new boxes of coloured pencils for the schools.
      • Used pencil crayons will still be useful if you’re able to donate ones that are no longer needed.

Spelling: Monday, we will have our test on N4. This week, we will work on spelling rules.

    • Field Trip forms will go home on Monday
    • There is one spot left for a parent, if you would like to attend, please let me know and bring $10.50 for an adult ticket.
    • Please make sure that you have your criminal record check on file with the office.

Language Arts: We will learn more about narrative writing and continue our novel study.

Bible: Our scripture memory for February is 1 John 4:7-8.

Art: We will have a special Valentine’s Day project.

Spelling: Monday, we will have our test on N3. This week, we will work on spelling list N4 and have a test on Monday, February 17.

Mission Briefing

Hello Agents!

Last week was a hard one with all the sickness. Our report cards went home Friday, but they’ll be here on Monday for those that missed them. We will also be doing a student self-reflection on our communication skills and sending it home on Monday. Here are your objectives this week.

Math: We will be learning to tell time. Make sure to practice telling time whenever you can.

Science: We will learn about the classification of fish and reptiles and write reports on animals.

Language Arts: We will learn more about narrative writing and continue our novel study.

Social Studies: We will start studying the Sto:lo culture.

Bible: Our scripture memory for February is 1 John 4:7-8.

Art: We will use our knowledge of value and complementary colours to paint apples with shadows.

Spelling: Monday, we will have our test on N2. This week, we will work on spelling list N3 and have a test on Monday, February 10.
