CASE FILE #1107 — The Mysteries of Power, Land & Volleyballs

Detectives, this week we’ve been digging into a major investigation:
How do governments make choices that affect people’s rights and our land?

In Grade 6 Social Studies, our case questions include:

  • Who gets to vote, and who decides?

  • How do we protect forests, oceans, and wildlife…
while also making enough energy to power video games and hot showers?

In Grade 5, we are wondering:

  • What makes us Canadian?

  • What are some common values that bind us together toward the same goal?

We have been reading about Alexander the Great, a commander-detective whose teacher was a legendary philosopher.
➡️ Ask your detective: How did one of the greatest minds in history shape our world through his influence on one of the greatest warriors in history?

Meanwhile, we are sharpening another important skill…
🏐 Volleyball! Our games start next week — detectives must be agile, alert, and ready to dive for the truth (and the ball)!

🗣️ Parent-Teacher Interviews — Tomorrow!

Case File #1103 — The Mystery of the Missing Uniforms

Detectives, we’ve received a curious clue from HQ…
On November 3rd, our usual uniforms will mysteriously disappear! Why? It’s $5 Pay to Wear Casual Day — and it’s all part of a top-secret operation to support our Highroad Missions Team!

Here’s how to crack the case:

  1. Bring $5 to your classroom teacher on Monday, November 3rd.

  2. Register for your hot lunch through Munch-a-Lunch (no detective should investigate on an empty stomach).

  3. Wear your casual clothes proudly — it’s all to help fund our team’s mission to bring clean water and hope to the Philippines.

Your detective work makes a difference — every dollar helps our mission agents prepare for their overseas operation!
