Spring Sing Tonight – Mission Briefing

The art gala was fantastic. The art looked great, and I loved how many parents came to see it.

Tonight, May 29, we have our Spring Sing performance starting at 6:30 pm.  I look forward to seeing everyone there to see the performance that our students have been working so hard to prepare!

All K-6 students are to wear spring-colored t-shirts (solid color, no writing or graphics) with jeans or casual bottom (no shorts, no sweatpants, no skirts or dresses). Sandles or running shoes for footwear.

On June 6, we are leaving early, at 8:30 am, to head out to Camp Charis for outdoor challenges and fun.

Plays

The plays turned out great, and I am thrilled with how much hard work our actors put into learning to read their lines well and in some cases memorizing many lines. Most of the students were not happy about the idea of sharing the video, much less posting the video on the blog, so send an email to me (dwolfsen@highroadacademy.com) and I will give you a link to the videos if you haven’t gotten one.

Mission Briefing – Pancake Breakfast moved to March 16

Spring Break is soon approaching, yet I feel like students still have a lot of energy to create with biography writing, Bible projects, and Genius hour. Next week we will be writing interview based biographies and finishing up our novel study of Wonder. We have had some great conversations on our connections to characters and situations, the scenes we can visualize, questions we wonder, inferences about feelings and thoughts we can make from character actions and situations, and some big transformations in perspective as August learns how to survive in school.

Our pancake breakfast has moved to March 16. Please let me know if you are willing to help us out in any way.

Our memory verse this week:

Psalm 138:1-8

Upcoming Events

  • March 1 Chapel
    • Here is the worship team list: please be ready to start by 8am. There is a 15 minute grace period, but any later than that and students will not be allowed to join the team as it is too disruptive.

Mission Briefing

We are excited to announce the Intermediate Pancake Breakfast, which will take place on March 17 from 8:00am to 8:50am. This event is open to Intermediate students only and will be held in the gym. Students will be able to access the gym through the side door. It promises to be a fun-filled morning with delicious pancakes and a chance for students to gather as an Intermediate Department.

To ensure the success of this event, we are seeking parent volunteers to help us out. If you are available, please let me know. We would need helpers starting at about 7:15. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated, and it is a great opportunity to get involved and support our school community.
