Mission Briefing

Hello Agents,

Christmas festivities are quickly approaching. This Monday we will film the Christmas Concert, so please wear church clothes or a nice bath robe as we dress like kings.

*EDIT* I have created accounts for everyone on epic books. Click here, enter the class code: dwx8046, and select your name to get started. I have assigned a Christmas tree book for Monday.

Here are your objectives this week.

  • Spelling: The L5 spelling test will be on Monday, and we will start practicing the L6 spelling test for Monday, December 7.
  • Language Arts: We will learn how to find ideas to write about and plan out stories.
  • Math: We will do a variety of themed math activities this week. Make sure to keep practicing skip counts as we learn multiplication.
  • Social Studies: We will learn about ways people have celebrated Christmas in the past and in different cultures.
  • Science: We will conduct some Christmas themed science experiments.
  • Bible: We will continue our study of John and learn the story of Christmas.
  • Art: We will have Christmas themed art projects.

Homework:

  • Read 15 min. I am sending books home, and I will test them on fluency and comprehension in class.
  • Skip count by 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10. Use the Hundreds Chart to count.
  • Spelling List Practice: Have students sound out the words. Recognizing the phonograms in each word is the most important part of how we teach students to spell with SWR. For extra spelling practice, check out this page on spelling rules, which can be found in Online Learning Resources.

I look forward to some Christmas themed learning this week!
