Hello Everyone,

I have been getting a lot of feedback on families having difficulty keeping track of all the assignments and following along with the lessons, especially lessons on writing personal narratives. It’s very important that everyone understands and feels comfortable with the lessons, so let’s take a break from the rest of the assignments this week.

Let’s just turn in what you have from the following assignments, and I will make some adjustments for a new way of delivering lessons that will be easier to follow for next week.

• Math
  • Division Packet
  • Picture of dividing objects into equal groups
• Writing
  • List of personal story ideas (from brainstorming and memories of emotions)
  • Narrowed down story ideas
  • Story written from your favourite narrowed down idea

Today’s Writing Lesson:

Rehearsal and Drafting (due 4/24)

• Pick one of the topics that you generated and narrowed down in the previous lessons and tell the story to someone.
• Write your story, making sure to focus on where you narrowed it down.

Feel free to write the story with whatever material you have. I look forward to hearing students share their stories on Friday if they choose. (The Friday group meeting is optional.)
