Mission Objectives

Hello Agents,

I hope everyone had a fun Easter. I know I enjoyed playing games and spending time with my daughters.

Here are your objectives this week:

Basic Skills

Keep working on math facts, reading, and writing routines that we established last week. I need a record of your activity, so please email me a picture of your offline activity if you are not working with the online tools.

Spelling

This week we are working on list N7. Practice with the activities in the assignment and make sure to complete the test by Sunday.

Math Project

This week we will have a math project. Complete the following math graphing packet to review. Then, start on the following project:

Kids everywhere are stuck at home and are finding it difficult to adjust. Let’s help them out by listing all the ways that we find interesting things to do. Then let’s help them figure out new types of fun that they hadn’t thought of.

  • Collect data
    • Make a list of many of the things you can do at home. (Try to write at least 20 activities, the more the better)
  • Categorize your data into types of activities
    • Identify different categories of activities.
      • What kinds of things can you do at home?
    • Organize the data to compare the amount of activities each category has.
      • What category of activities has the most things to do?
      • What category has the least amount of things to do?
  • Make a graph that makes it easy for others to see the comparison of your data.
    • Choose a type of graph that you would like to use.
      • Bar graph, pictograph, tally or other type
    • Review and improve your graph by asking yourself these questions.
      • What parts of the graph show the data I collected?
      • Does this graph clearly show which categories have the most or least items?
      • Is it easy to compare categories to see how many more are in the larger ones than smaller ones?

Language Arts

We will learn how to write personal narratives this week. Tuesday, begin with the following pre-assessment activity:

Write about a time when you were sick or hurt. Include details about your feelings and thoughts about the illness or injury. Include information that will help your audience be able to picture exactly what happened in their mind.

  • Write out the story.
  • Print out the following Rubric.
    • Find a someone to help you read through each section in the rubric.
    • Circle the level of mastery you had in your story.
  • Take a picture of the story and Rubric, then send it to me.
